About the Role
Responsibilities
Leadership:
Provide technical leadership to the data science team, guiding and mentoring team members.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data science initiatives with overall business goals.
Strategy and Planning:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive data science strategy to address business challenges and opportunities.
• Define and prioritize data science projects based on their potential impact.
Model Development:
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced machine learning models and algorithms.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and incorporate relevant techniques into project methodologies.
Data Exploration and Preparation:
• Oversee the exploration and preprocessing of large datasets to extract meaningful insights.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data science process.
Collaboration:
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders and other departments, to understand their needs and provide data-driven solutions.
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and domain experts to integrate data science solutions into operational systems.
Communication:
• Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner.
• Communicate the value of data science initiatives to stakeholders.
Project Management:
• Manage end-to-end data science projects, including defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in data science methodologies.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the data science field.
Requirements
6 - 8 years of Data Science experience required
Ph.D or Masters Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is required
Deep Knowledge and Understanding of Personalization, Web/Mobile Analytics, and Customer Analytics
Proven experience in a leadership role or as a senior data scientist.
Strong python coding with production experience is preferred, MLops knowledge and experience is plus
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Knowledge of databases and SQL.
At least 4 years of experience in Mining, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, Construction, Power and Energy industry sectors as consultant or any role.
Ability to apply various analytical models to business use cases and find the best modeling technique
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to understand business partner needs and deliver solutions
Action-oriented with the ability to deliver outstanding results through task prioritization and time management
